Can i buy my encaustic tiles already treated?

No, the pieces should be placed untreated, and must be dry and clean before the treatment. If the tiles are treated before lay out, the moisture from the cement glue could stain them permanently.read more.....

How should I clean and maintain my hydraulic floor?

How is this type of flooring placed and treated?

This floor can be easily laid out by any flooring professional; it is done using cement glue, but you can also use any other adherent as the cement base of the tile ensures that it will grip appropriately.

The floor or surface must be absolutely flat; this will ensure the longevity of the floor.

It is convenient to use double-spread (on the tile and the floor). The levelling of the tiles must be manually done piece by piece.

When applying the liquid gasket it is recommended that the tiles are wet and excess product is removed immediately with a wet cloth. The tile before treatment is porous so it will be very important to keep stains to a minimum.

After, it must be scrubbed it thoroughly using mild soaps (not acids or abrasives) and allow to dry completely.

It is now time to apply a sealer or waterproof product for hard floors or terrazzo.

There are many products that can be used on this type of tile, depending on the result you want to obtain; glossy, matte, natural, worn… etc. Ask your local DIY shop professionals for information about the products used for porous ceramic type flooring treatments.

1 litre covers approximately 10-15 m2. Manually apply it evenly with a roller or brush. This is done only once.
